Ben is an Associate in our Singapore office.
Ben has experience with both wet and dry shipping litigation and has managed disputes involving ship collisions, cargo loss, commodities, crew wages, charterparty and bunker supply issues. He has also advised ship arrests and Admiralty actions in rem. Ben has dealt with disputes in mediation, arbitration and before the Singapore courts.
Prior to qualifying as a lawyer, Ben spent a decade in agribusiness at a leading British and Japanese trading houses, where he was the head of the soft commodity trading desks and responsible for leading commercial functions in downstream assets. Ben's experience in this industry gives him a particular interest and insight into commodities disputes.
Ben is qualified in Singapore as an Advocate and Solicitor. He holds a Juris Doctor from the Singapore Management University and a BA in Political Science and China Studies from the National University of Singapore.
Ben is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, French and speaks some Japanese.
