Gerry graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Laws in 2022 and was admitted to the Singapore Bar as Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court in 2023.

Gerry's main areas of practice includes international arbitration and mediation, commercial and corporate litigation, with a focus on shipping and trade disputes. Gerry has appeared as assisting counsel across all levels of the Singapore Courts, and has acted in arbitration proceedings administered under SIAC, SCMA, HKIAC, and LMAA rules.

Gerry is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Case Highlights:-

1. Assisted in the successful defense of a prominent ship owner and their Protection and Indemnity ("P&I") Club from vexatious arrest proceedings commenced in Singapore by the opponents despite a limitation fund set up in the PRC. Reported judgments can be found at The "Sea Justice" [2023] SGHCR 24, The "Sea Justice" [2024] SGHC 37, The "Sea Justice" [2024] SGCA 32.

2. Advised a large container shipping carrier in relation to general and particular average claims brought by cargo interest for cargo damages arising from a fire on board the vessel amounting to around USD 3 million.

3. Representing a large Chinese company group specializing in oilfield equipment and offshore marine engineering on numerous high value disputes, including charterparty disputes, breach of contracts, fraud and asset recovery.

4. Representing a group of related oil and gas traders on numerous demurrage claims against various opponents in jurisdictions such as Nigeria, Turkey, England & Wales, Singapore, Hong Kong, China and Brazil through arbitrations administered under various institutions including SIAC, HKIAC, LMAA and SCMA.
