Paul is a Master Mariner based in our Singapore office.
Paul is a Class 1 (unlimited) Master Mariner and he has 20 years seafaring experience on primarily passenger vessels and ferries, but also on a variety of vessel types when he was an apprentice with P&O Group.
Paul then spent 9 years as a pilot at 2 districts in the UK, latterly piloting ultra large container ships. After a brief period in super yacht management, Paul built on his experience and moved into marine consultancy where he gained experience inter alia of accident investigation, salvage, cargo, pollution, and unsafe port issues.
Paul is qualified in interview techniques, is a qualified expert witness which assists when working with consultants, and has completed the nautical institute navigation assessor course. He frequently attends casualties to collect contemporaneous evidence and take statements where his knowledge of ship handling, cargo issues and port operations prove particularly valuable. Paul is also familiar with analyzing VDR and ECDIS playbacks and ensures that he keeps abreast of modern technology.
Paul adds valuable mariner experience to the handling of cases predominantly on the wet side, but also on technical aspects arising out of dry shipping cases.
