Campbell Johnston Clark (CJC) partner and director Jacqueline Zalapa was delighted join a panel of experts and moderate the session on sustainability and ship recycling at the Maritime SheEO Conference, at the Taj Santacruz hotel in Mumbai, India on 16 November.

CJC’s senior associate, Richard Hickey, also attended the event, which attracted around 150 in-person delegates, including the IMO’s Jose Matheickal (Chief, Department of Partnerships and Projects) and Arsenio A. Dominguez (Director, Marine Environment Division) and around 2,200 online participants from around the world. It has been described as the “biggest maritime diversity and sustainability event of the year”. Whilst speakers discussed the important steps that are being undertaken to improve diversity and equality, there was general consensus that much work remains to be done to achieve objectives, including greater gender diversity amongst boards and leadership teams and gender pay parity.
