Singapore workshop explores casualty scenarios

In May, CJC’s Singapore team was led by Directors (and mariners) Andrew Gray and Andrew Shannon in hosting an interactive Collision Workshop that brought together maritime professionals to explore the complexities of marine casualty claims.

Building on the success of previous events in London and Greece, May’s CJC workshop in Singapore featured a realistic collision scenario involving a container ship and a bulk carrier.

Attendees worked in teams to assess liability, navigate the COLREGS, and tackle evolving challenges as new developments were introduced - mirroring the unpredictability of real-life incidents.

The session offered valuable insights into evidence gathering, jurisdictional considerations, and securing claims, all while encouraging collaboration and critical thinking. Feedback from participants highlighted the workshop’s practical relevance and engaging format.
